Hills create movement and different perspectives, which is the beauty of the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. Coupled with the sea of Jacaranda petals that litter the roadsides, this made for a perfect subject.
 
In a city where one lives in ones’ car, I admit to pulling over, and painting this over a few right-brained hours. I was particularly pleased with the combination of monochromatic colour with a hint of colour. 
 
The beauty of this piece is it works everywhere.
